Tiny Room
Tiny Room
In 2013, my friends offered to rent me a bedroom for $150 a month. It was basically a walk in closet that was barely big enough for a full sized mattress. I sat on the floor and stared at the walls for 3 hours imagining how I could make this work. In my meditation, I broke down the function of a bedroom and realized that it was comprised of these things:
A bed
A place to put your clothes
Storage for your prized possessions
An aesthetic that is beautiful and recharges your soul
I came up with a sketch that incorporated all of these things into the space and later made an instructable to teach others how to do the same. This was the passion project that launched my career as a designer.
